SPX Pack
Flexible file format for SPX workflows
This article is a work-in-progress and is about an upcoming SPX Graphics feature.
DETAILS WILL BE ADDED LATER
.spxpack
SPX Graphics controller will have an export-import feature in an upcoming release.
The workflow will support a special file package format, which is based on the zip-file compression.
The file extension is .spxpack - and we will pronounce it "sixpack" 😁
Structure
Fileformat follows SPX folder structure and a pack can contain any combination or number of
- templates
- images
- plugins
- projects and rundowns
- and more
This is done by creating an identical folder structure within the spxpack file as SPX has. For instance the spxpack may have "ASSETS" root folder, with "templates/myCompany/myTemplateCollection/*" files in it.
This enables shipping premade projects and rundowns and all the associated templates and other assets, such as plugins and images, with them.
When imported, files and folders will be merged from the package to the folder structure of SPX and rundowns can be played on-air instantly. Super efficient workflow for sharing projects and graphics between designers, developers, producers, production sites, OB-trucks and MCRs.
