Overview for developers

HTML Graphics Marketplace is for professionals working with HTML graphics, either as a user or as a graphics designer / developer.

Our focus is in broadcast TV, event production and live streaming.

HTML Graphics is for businesses and for international tax complience, buyers and sellers will need to have a valid "Business ID" (VAT, EIN, TIN, etc) to be able to do business on the platform.

The marketplace has products in several categories for several HTML compatible workflows and systems, such as SPX Graphics, CasparCG, OBS, LiveU, etc:
  • templates (individual graphics, such as a QR Code Generator)
  • template packs (a complete brand package of multiple graphics, sharing the same visual style)
  • assets (like collection of images, such as country flags, etc)
  • plugins (additional software features, such as scoreboard controllers)

We may introduce new categories later for example for compatible software or partners.

Creating products

Typical steps in getting your idea to the Marketplace.

  1. 👋 Sign up. To be able to interact with the platform you need to have an account there. You can use Google or Github account to sign up or a typical email-password combo. Once signed up you can create a profile page for yourself, with cover image and avatar.

  2. 💡 Product idea. You can have a product idea of your own or you can use our public Product Requests -page as a source of inspiration to see what products the community would like to see.

  3. 🚧 Work on it. Develop and test your product - this is the hard part. We will be preparing a collection of system specific developer docs and example projects soon.

  4. 🎨 Prepare assets for your listing. This is how buyers will see your product before buying it:

    • Product Name. What people will call your product? At best it's short, descriptive and unique. Remember, it does not need to contain terms describing it's "category" as the product will be listed in of one of the provided categories anyway.

    • Cover image (one image is required, but the more the better). Your clients want to know how your product works and what it looks like.  A picture is worth a thousand words. Optimal images are 1920x1080px PNG. Make sure you have all the rights to images and other assets in your product and listing.

    • Descriptions. The platform will require a "short description" that is shown as a tagline in the listings. The main text is a "long description", that should explain in detail what your product does, what are the benefits and use-cases of your product. Description is rich text and can contain bullets, images, bullets, etc.

    • Instructions. Each listing requires a link to an external documentation URL that should contain clear installation and usage instructions, preferably with images.

    • Price. At the moment all the products are available as a one-time-purchase, subscriptions will follow shortly. Come up with a suitable price for your product. Remember, the payment processor will take a 5% processing fee, platform 30% and your share is 65%. As we are selling digital products to businesses, the prices does not have a tax in them. Our payment processor is Stripe, and you as a seller must have a Stripe account. This is set up during your first product submission.

  5. 📦 Package your product. The actual deliverable is a single ZIP-file containing everything related to your product. Installers, project files, media assets, instructions and licenses. File size is limited to XXX Mb by default. If your product is bigger, operators can enable larger file sizes at request.

Before submitting, test your product carefully by installing it to a fresh environment, to make sure your package contains all necessary dependencies and libraries and works out-of-the-box. Marketplace operators will test the product, so make sure it is easy to install for swift approval!

If your product is for SPX Graphics, see Knowledge Base article about the SPX Pack fileformat.

Approval process

Once you have submitted your new product listing, it will be in the system as  "pending approval".

Marketplace operators will verify your product: it technically works, it contains required installation instructions, product images, documentation and complies with our guidelines overall.

If everything checks out, your product is approved and goes live on the platform instantly! ✨

If there is somethings to adjust in your submission, your listing will have a remark from the operator.

Email notifications will be sent in each step of the process.
